Quilty Witches Hat Pattern Tutorial

Recently I attended a class where a few of us decided to make these adorable, quilted witches' hats together. We intended to follow a tutorial, it seemed fairly simple to follow, a great idea with great intentions. However it did not work out as planned. I enjoyed the process of sewing together with a group andI learned a few things along the way and found myself troubleshooting my entire project. Here are a few things I learned: One, I am not very good at sticking to patterns, I have habit of changing things to my style of sewing, and two, I tend to get more creative than planned. Are these problems? no but when another tutorial doesn't exactly work out for me, I had to troubleshoot and find a way that worked for me. Here is my version of how to create a quilted witches hat that should be successful for everyone.
