Is your sewing machine acting up, or are you just looking to get better acquainted with its inner workings?

I’m currently planning out the next few months of content, and I want to make sure I’m creating resources that you actually need. Whether you are dealing with broken tension, frustrating thread jams, or just need to know how to properly oil your machine, I’m building a library of DIY repair guides and maintenance tips.
I need your input to make this the best resource possible!
Please let me know in the comments:
What is your biggest sewing machine headache right now? (e.g., tension problems, timing, broken needles, cleaning)
What kind of repair materials do you need? (e.g., beginner-friendly guides, deep-dive YouTube tutorials, quick checklists)
What type of tutorial would be most helpful? (e.g., "How to service your own machine," "Troubleshooting specific brands," or "Beginner maintenance routines.")
✨ Paying It Forward: How We Can Help Each Other
Beyond just fixing our own machines, there’s a whole world of ways we can help our fellow sewists and vintage machine enthusiasts. If you’re looking to share your passion and help others get the most out of their machines, here are a few ideas:
Share Your Knowledge: There is nothing worse than not being able to find answers or finding the wrong information. Join online forums or Facebook groups to answer questions and troubleshoot for newcomers. Knowledge is power and everything helps.
Volunteer Your Skills: Many communities host Repair Cafés where you can volunteer a few hours a month to help neighbors fix their gear and learn basic maintenance.
Donate and Teach: Organizations like The Sewing Machine Project accept donated machines to help others build self-confidence and livelihoods; you can even volunteer to teach classes or help refurbish machines.
Start a Local "Sewing Bee": Host a casual hangout or session where friends can bring their machines for a group cleaning day or simple "stitch-along" to practice skills together.
Drop your ideas below—I can’t wait to read them and start creating!
Happy Sewing,
Erin Gannon

Biggest headache as far as sewing machines two non working, my 201 still buzzes and I need to re do three featherweights and do lead oxididation removal. I rewired my buzzing 201 twice now but missing the problem and don’t know how to use a multi meter to track it down. Luckily it still sees nicely.
